All our products are made from sugar substitutes with low Glycemic Index (GI). The Glycemic Index (GI) is a relative ranking of carbohydrate in foods according to how they affect blood glucose levels. Carbohydrates with a low GI value (55 or less) are more slowly digested, absorbed and metabolised and cause a lower and slower rise in blood glucose and, therefore usually, insulin levels.
We use 4 types of sugar substitutes in our products – Maltitol, Stevia, FOS and Sucralose. All these ingredients are either naturally occurring or derived from natural materials All of them are approved by United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA – https://www.fda.gov/food/food-additives-petitions/high-intensity-sweeteners) and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI – https://fssai.gov.in/upload/uploadfiles/files/FSSAI-regulations.pdf)
The Glycemic Index of our products as compared with normal sugar are given below
Typically, 25-50% of the calories in Sweets come from Sugar (380 Kcal / 100 gm). Most of the sugar substitutes like Stevia, Aspartame and Sucralose have negligible amounts of calories (<1 Kcal). Hence substituting sugar with these additives will significantly reduce the overall calorie content of the products. This is beneficial for people who are looking to cut down on calories or looking to reduce their weight through controlled diets.
